"A Great Place to Get The Blues"

Wow !!!  Much has transpired since this page was last updated.  First of all most of you know that our illustrious drummer Graham has sold his home and will be moving to Michigan.  Graham will play his last date with us on March 16th.  If ever anyone will be missed he is that person.  We all knew his home was on the market but no one expected it to sell so quickly.  It is hard to imagine continuing on without him back there on the drums, after all he is the co-founder of the band and so much the soul and inspiration of the Dynamics.  Graham will be making trips down this way in the winters so hopefully we will make music again together.

After 1-1/2 years  Mikey our guitarist has left the band.  Expressing a desire to play a few nights less per week as well as spend time with his wife & young son Mikey will still be playing around the area with Cobalt Blues (the group he founded) and other players.  We will miss Mikey whose dynamic lead playing and good natured ways made him a great band mate and fan favorite too.

OK, so you wonder who will take their places???  On guitar we are happy to have Nick Washburn back in the band.  Nick played on our second CD and is a terrific guitarist as well as a real fine singer, and creative force.

On drums we have added Nick Longobardi.  We think our fans will really love this guy.  He is a veteran of stage & studio in Brooklyn N.Y. & Boston.  Nick "The Stick" plays with incredible enthusiasm and has a great attitude and has become part of the family instantly.

So folks life goes on and the band continues to evolve.  Graham we will miss you and your soul will be hovering around all our gigs for a long time to come.  We Love You Graham!!!!

The CD Release Party for our 3rd CD "Live At Bert's" will be held Sunday afternoon March 30th at Bert's in Matlacha

Happy New Year to all our good friends!!!  For those of you who'd like to obtain a 2008 calendar designed by photographer Tammie King contact her directly at. tktammie@embarqmail.com . They are beautiful calendars and Tammie has been a wonderful person to work with & to know.

Our gig on 11/13 at Parrot Key is a private party.  On that night only the bar will be closed to the public.  After that it will be business as usual.

Well it's been a busy summer for the band.  We began work on our studio CD which will be all original compositions.  We hope to have a new live CD available in late 2007.  The band has been learning some new songs for the show and we all enjoyed great vacations back in August.  The Halloween bash at Portobello's was a riot, check out the pictures for yourselves.  Halloween 2007 We are looking forward to the Blues Festival on Pine Island, November 10th. We will start our set around 4PM.  We've added a few new venues also.  You can see us at Parrot Key on Ft. Myers Beach, and Leapin Lizards in Cape Coral.  See our schedule for time & dates.  Those of you who like to see us at Bert's remember to call early and get reservations.

We returned from our trip to Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 20th. (See pics)Kalamazoo  As a group we enjoyed many unforgettable moments, plenty of laughs and goodtimes.  Deb managed to conquer her fear of flying with the help of some potent beverages courtesy of the Dewar's bar in the Northwest terminal.  She did however realize the fear of losing her vintage Fender Jazz Bass at the Detroit baggage claim.  Rick was the last to hold it but freely lays the blame on Donnie for not loading it on the cart.  To all our relief it was still there when Deb hurried back.  Newt proved himself to be the ultimate chauffer/navigator.  The rest of the band did what they do best when they are not partying which is to sleep heavily.

We stayed in first rate accommodations at the Radisson in Kalamazoo and played at the spacious Shakespeare's club on Thursday, Friday & Saturday nights.  It was a great venue and Scott and his staff really made us feel so welcome. The city of Kalamazoo was very nice, plenty of parks, interesting architecture, shopping, street music, art galleries and friendly locals.

We visited the old Gibson Guitar Factory and took pictures of Graham & Mikey in front of the historic smokestack.  Grahams vintage 67 was made there.

We were delighted to see plenty of friends from our own stomping grounds there and Deb's former musical partner Deborah Coleman was headlining Friday Night at the Blues Fest directly across the street. We were able to catch part of her show during our break.

We left early Sunday Morning and hit the runway in Fort Myers at 1:30PM. It was good to be home and the summer heat reminded us that we had just enjoyed several day in the 70's with night time temps in the hi 50's.

Once again we can't thank our gracious hosts Tom & Lori for a unforgettable time.  It made us all realize what wonderful jobs we have and what incredible friendships we have formed along the way.

See photos of our trip on the Kalamazoo page.

Thanks to all our friends and fans who have provided pictures for us!!! Two new pages have been added to the Gallery section of the website. Gallery

Well folks if you are a frequent visitor you will have noticed that this page has not been updated in a long while. SORRY!!!  Since the last update many things have changed.  Hope to update more regularly so please continue to visit the site.  Beloved Jimmy B's finally gave way to the wrecking ball.  However we picked up Sunday's at the Tiki Bar almost directly across the street from where Jimmy B's once stood.  It is located at the Lighthouse Resort and is very comfortable, well staffed, and has a great manager!  We love it and we're so thankful that our fans have followed us there.  We play on Sunday's from 3:PM to 7:PM .  We also play every Friday night at Pincher's on the Beach at the Holiday in at the other end of the Island.  That has also been a great venue to play.  The hours there are 6:PM til 9:PM.

We really miss Jimmy B's and hope we can team up again with Judy Coleman in the future.  We love her and will always be grateful for the first class way she conducted business and treated bands at Jimmy B's.

Deb & The Dynamics has added a new member, Don Hulgas on tenor & baritone saxophone.  We just love the guy and we're so happy our fans (who are our extended family) have embraced Donnie as we have.  It's easy to do because he is an amazing musician, vibrant performer, & most importantly a great guy!  He fit in immediately and has added a lot to the Dynamics sound. Check out his bio on the band page The Band .

The band now has their own studio in which to record & rehearse at their disposal.  We are able to leave the equipment set up so we can record and return later and pick up right where we left off.  It's located in an extremely comfortable, quiet setting and is like our own clubhouse where we can work without interruption, and cook up a nice dinner and chill out when we're done for the day. Over the course of the summer we hope to complete an album of our own songs as well as a "Live CD" with the current line-up playing on it.

Longtime NEWS-PRESS photographer Burnell Caldwell did a photo shoot for us last month.  Some of the pictures including our homepage & bio pics are his.  Burnell is also a musician and totally captured the vibe we have been looking for so long. We look forward to working with him again.  Thanks Burnell !!!

We were happy to be offered a slot to play at the Cape Coral Red White & Boom Celebration on July 4th. We really had a great night opening for Nashville's Ray Scott last year.  Stay tuned for more details, this is a huge event.

The band will be hitting the road for a series of shows in Kalamazoo, Michigan from July 12 thru the 14th. We will be playing a great venue called Shakespeare's. We met the owners when they heard us play this winter, they are wonderful people and the band is really psyched about making the trip.  For those of you up in that neck of the woods come see us at Shakespeare's 241 East Kalamazoo Ave. Phone 269 488-7784

For our friends & fans who had become accustomed to seeing us at Portabello's at Burnt Store Marina on Wednesday nights needn't fret. We will still play the 3rd Wednesday of each month during the slow season and resume the weekly schedule when the Marina's residents return this fall.  We have picked up some dates beginning in July at Martini's in Cape Coral on Wednesday nights. As always you can keep track of us by visiting our Schedule page.

The band has been writing songs at a furious pace and we've been gradually introducing them into the show. "Rock It Don't Stop It" & "Let Me Down Easy" are few you may have heard already. We've discovered as a band we are able to write by "committee" very well, & Deb & Rick also have been bringing great finished compositions of there own to the table. We plan on recording again soon and should have an all original  CD available before too long.  We also will begin recording a series of live shows in the near future as we assemble tracks for a new live album.

Are we still playing Jimmy B's on the beach???  It's scheduled for demolition but we are uncertain as to when that will actually take place.  So yes, we're still playing but be sure and check this page before you make your plans. Or check out the Schedule page for updated information as to our whereabouts. As of today (March 2nd) everything is as it was. If that changes it will be posted here right away.  We've added some dates at Holiday Inn on Ft. Myers Beach too. So those of you who like to see us on the beach, check it out, it's a great venue.

We will be the headline act at the Bonita Springs Blues Festival on April 7th. Stay tuned for more details.

Deb & The Dynamics T-shirts will be available soon, hopefully within a few weeks (They're really cool!)

Hope you've been enjoying our shows with the additional horn players. It's something we've been wanting to try for awhile and the reception has bee very encouraging. You can look for more of that in the future.

Well, we sure hope all of you enjoyed a wonderful holiday season. We'd like to thank Jim & Sue,  & Russ for the generous Christmas gifts!  The band was extremely busy during that time playing many private engagements with only a few days off.  We made another trip to Islamorada at the end of December and had a great time (we began writing songs for our next CD there).  After that it was off to Fort Lauderdale where we played for "Merry" Mary's birthday bash of the S. Fl Blues Society.  They were a great bunch of folks and made us feel so at home!  As some of you may now know  after more than six months of  packing Gatorz in Port Charlotte on Tuesday nights we are no longer at that venue.  We'd like to thank all our friends and fans whom we met there and encourage you to join us at The Slip-not (just down the road), where we continue to add new dates, as well as "The Joint" in Cape Coral, and Portabellas every Wednesday at Burnt Store Marina.  We also will begin playing regularly at Pinchers on San Carlos right before the bridge to Ft. Myers Beach in February. (And of course Bert's on Thursdays) They are all well managed venues with plenty of room to dance.  As always you can keep tabs on us by visiting the Schedule page.

We rang in the New Year with a huge party at Jimmy B's.  It was packed!  Heck even the beach itself was packed!  After the road trip is was great to come home and celebrate in style with all our friends and fans.  A special thanks to Judy & Ken for making it all possible and treating us so well. You guys are the best.

As I mentioned earlier the band has begun writing it's own material and will be introducing those songs into our shows gradually.  Collaborative efforts have proved to be very fruitful and enjoyable so we're hopeful you'll appreciate the end result.  We hope to began recording them soon (after we find a place on the Island where we can set up a studio space).

Special thanks to Jill Dean for the wonderful Graham "Sexiest Man Alive" poster.

So folks check the Photo 4  for all the latest photos!

A huge thanks goes out to all our friends and fans for their spirited and supportive showing at the 7th Annual Southwest Florida Music Festival held on 11/18.  Also major props go out to Jerry Tolliver and all of the Mariners/Hookers for putting together a first rate show.  They brought in some great entertainers and speaking first hand can tell you they really make them feel welcome and at home.  A class act all the way.  Although there were some sound issues early on in our set, those were smoothed out as we progressed and the band all felt we put on a pretty good show.  Spurred on by our loyal "Debheads" we'll have fond memories of that night for a long, long time.  Thanks Ya'll !!!!  Stay tuned for pics in the not too distant future.  If you took any good ones please put them on a CD and bring them to a gig, we can sure use them.

We just finished playing a few new venues.  Pincher's Crab Shack in North Fort Myers, as well as Port o' Bellos at Burnt Store Marina.  Both dates went extremely well so you can probably count on seeing us add extra dates at those two establishments in the future.  We had a great time playing them that's for sure, and the setting at both is just amazing.

The band performed again at the 2nd Annual Pirates Ball, which was organized by Captain Dave & Jill Dean.  Hats off to these two for a fantastic party!!!   Visit their website, besides being great friends of the band they offer incredible fishing charters!   Family Tradition Guide

Check out the pictures from the Pirates Ball Pirate Ball

We've added another page to the Gallery section Friends 4.  You may be on there so be sure and check it out.  There is a great photo of the "little people" Kiss tribute band called "Mini Kiss" on the page (first pic) and as Graham exclaimed when he had a chance encounter with them "it's a small world", and that dear friends is still the best band one liner of the year in our opinion. There are also a few other shots from our Keys road trip on the page too.

Played the annual benefit for schools on Pine Island on Sunday 10/15/06.  Kudos to the Matlacha Hookers & Butch from Southbound Band for making everything run so smoothly.  We shared the bill with Southbound, Cobalt Blue, Sarah Mahan, & others and a good time was enjoyed on a perfect weather day.

Check out the website for the upcoming music festival put on by the Mariners in mid November.

The band spent a fantastic weekend on October 7th & 8th in the Keys (Islamorada) as guest performers for the Everglades Boat Company.  Captain Dave Dean handled the fishing tournament. It proved to be an awesome gig and a very interesting adventure. The weather was perfect and different band members had varying degrees of R&R.  Let's just say their were encounters with dwarves dressed as a Kiss tribute band,  jailers,  police cars, water slides,  hot tubs, & a few hall of fame hangovers were recorded.  Maybe a future song in there somewhere, but you'll get no further details in this forum because after all as Jill Dean who was with us said: "What happens in the Keys, stays in the Keys"

Friday 9/15 was Deb's birthday and we'd like very much to express our gratitude to Bert's for throwing a wonderful party in her honor  (see pics in Gallery 3). Also a big thanks to Butch & The Southbound Band, who came over to Bert's during a break from their gig to serenade Deb with a fantastic version of "Happy Birthday",  a class act for sure!!!  Most of all we'd like to thank our friends and fans for helping us celebrate in style, and for making Deb feel so special on that great evening.  You guys are the best!!!

Deb & The Dynamics are thrilled to have added Michael " The Kid" Schvenski Mike to the line up. Mikey is a tremendous talent and his outgoing nature make him a perfect fit for the band.

We also would like to thank longtime friend of the band Joe Conners for holding down the guitar duties for us during the transition period.  Also a big thanks to Bob Hanson for bailing us out on extremely short notice.

Our much loved guitarist and friend Nick Washburn has left the band and is currently pursing other opportunities.  We will certainly miss the immense talent, soul, spirit & humor he brought to our lives. We all wish him the best of everything in the years ahead.   Much love to you Nick.

Well we had one fantastic CD Release party at Bert's on July 30th.  The place was packed with our friends & fans on one of the hottest days of the year. We can't thank you guys enough for hanging on for all three sets and helping us celebrate such a joyous event.  We can't say this enough but WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!!  Check out the CD Party page for pics taken on that great day.  We'll be adding more pictures to the page over the next several weeks so keep checking back.

The band was featured as part of the cover story in "Gulf Coasting" in the Fort Myers News-Press on 7/28.  Staff writer Mary Wozniak did a great story on Deb & The Dynamics & The Yard Dogs.

PAYPAL is back up and running on the Music  page.

We're enjoying our  vacation which began on August 1st. We'll be back at on the August 13th at the Ragged Ass.  We'll be adding Wednesdays at Houlihans in The Cape beginning 8/30.  For those of you that enjoy seeing us in a scaled back/unplugged mode may want to check us out.

Wednesday night 7/12 marked uncharted territory for the group as Bert's showcased "Deb Unleashed". Acoustic instruments lined the stage and the band performed unplugged versions of many of their normally electric soaked tunes on acoustic instruments.  They also showcased many previously unheard songs for an enthusiastic crowd.  Nick played some wonderful guitar solos on his Martin 6 string and also laid down some solid drumming. Newt, in addition to his stellar sax playing added some keyboards too. Rick switched between piano, organ, guitar, harmonica, mandolin, & drums . Graham provided some real highpoints of the evening by performing rousing versions of several blues & swing standards and devastated the crowd with some incredible guitar work .  Deb had to sit down for a change, which if you know her at all know goes completely against her nature!  She as always tore the joint up with her soulful voice and vibrant bass playing. Her bass solo at the end of the night was a show highlight.  Keep an eye on the August schedule because more of these unplugged dates will be forthcoming.  It could the beginning to something new and exciting at Bert's.  You hardcore dancers don't fret though, the band will still be rockin the house as always on Thursdays!

Thanks to Bruce at Pine Island Printing for the killer CD Concert posters.  If you need anything printed he's definitely the man to see!!!

It was a great time a The band performed at the Cape Coral Red, White & Boom - 4th of July Celebration opening for Ray Scott out of Nashville.  Right before our sound check it rained sideways, sending everyone on the stage scrambling to cover up and protect the gear.  That created a delay which translated into us, as opening act being cut to one hour, which was an unavoidable disappointment. We took the stage, without a sound check at 6:30PM and played for one hour to a very large and enthusiastic crowd. It was hard to tell on stage if we sounded good, but judging from audience response and feedback afterwards from fans, friends, & family it sounded great out front, which is all that counts. The event organizers were great and the fireworks were spectacular!  Ray Scott & his band  "The Guilty Bystanders" put on a great show and were a gas to hang out with backstage. We can definitely count Ray, P-Mo, Jack, D Minus, T-Roy, & Jaywalker as friends and brothers in arms.  Cool dudes!

Thanks to Bob & Kevin for inviting us to play we really enjoyed it!!!

Check out pictures from the event  July 4th. NEW!!!

The band is honored to have been chosen 2006 BEST LIVE ENTERTAINMENT  for Pine Island. The announcement came in the June 7th  Pine Island Eagle.  Our sincere thanks go out to those who voted for us !!!

Apologies to all our loyal friends & fans that were accustomed to catching the show  Friday nights at "The Dek" in Cape Coral.  Deb & The Dynamics really enjoyed our long engagement there, building Friday nights into a special event where folks could get an upbeat start to the weekend.  Check our schedule as we will resurface somewhere near you on Fridays shortly.  We'll get something special going again, you can count on it!

There is a new feature on our website Feedback Where we encourage our friends & fans to send emails to us so we can post them on that page. We have a few already but we need more!  Please join in!

Be sure to check out the Gallery pages because we update them regularly.  Incidentally if you see a picture of yourself on there that you're not exactly pleased with, just let us know and we'll remove it.  Rick (the guy with the camera - who wants you to know he isn't a stalker!) does the best he can capturing you beautiful people, but we understand everyone has their own degree of "acceptability"  when it comes to pictures of themselves.

WE LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!

Deb , Graham, Newt, Rick & Mike
